Langara College Association of Retirees

Langara College Association of Retirees (LCAR) is a network of all former faculty, staff, and administrators who have retired from Langara College.

LCAR was created to allow Langara College retirees to stay connected with each other through the pursuit of activities of common interest, and to facilitate retirees’ continued engagement with the College and its students.

• LCAR 2026 Social & AGM
  Thursday, November 5, 2026 from 2pm until 4pm in L224 (Library Building, 2nd floor event space).

  Join us in November for an opportunity to connect with other retirees (and friends) and enjoy Brian McGibney’s musical styling while sampling some afternoon snacks. Also on the agenda are Langara updates with a brief AGM.As a special treat, witness the creative side of LCAR colleague Claude Painter as she displays her handcrafted jewelry and accessories. Pieces include bracelets, dangle earrings and pendants made of stones, sterling silver, leather and other natural materials. Perhaps you can get a jump on holiday shopping with prices ranging from $15 to $100 (payment by exact change cash or e-transfer). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the LCAR Bursary Fund.

  There is no charge for the event but you must register here. To help us estimate and schedule our food order, please register by Thursday, October 29.

   

• Langara College Foundation – Support Our Students

  For over 25 years, the Langara community has supported students in need.

  This bursary provides crucial financial aid to students facing challenges.

  With rising living costs, more students are struggling to afford food, housing, and transportation. Our goal is to raise critical funds to provide vital support and help students stay focused on their studies this season.

  Last December, thanks to the generosity of our donors, our campaign supported 350 students, helping them cover essential expenses and focus
  on their studies during a challenging time of year.

  LCAR Members have supported S.O.S. years before and years after retirement. Please consider continuing your support this year.
