Langara College Association of Retirees

Welcome

Langara College Association of Retirees (LCAR) is a network of all former faculty, staff, and administrators who have retired from Langara College.

LCAR was created to allow Langara College retirees to stay connected with each other through the pursuit of activities of common interest, and to facilitate retirees’ continued engagement with the College and its students.

We congratulate and welcome new retirees. We invite you to explore this website to learn more about LCAR, our activities and resources. Please register as an LCAR member to receive information about member benefits, and to hear of our upcoming events.

News & Events

  • LCAR Summer Casuals

To help launch your summer, LCAR has scheduled afternoon casual socials for June 24th, July 30th and August 27th. All the summer socials will be at the Langara Golf Course dining room and patio. It’s a great way to catch up with old friends and colleagues. As always, your good friends and partners are also welcome.

Help us to arrange seating by registering for each date separately. If you are “iffy”, register anyway. You can always cancel later if your plans change.

The Spring 2026 issue of LCAR’s newsletter is now available.

Download and read a copy of And By The Way, Retirees. Volume 4, Issue 2  from the News & Events page.

Catch up on news and upcoming events. Feature articles for this issue include Retiree Tales: The Elder Activist and Dwayne Doornbosch’s Langara College Operations’ Environmental Principles, Achievements, and Goals (with photos).

  • Langara College Foundation – Support Our Students

For over 25 years, the Langara community has supported students in need.

This bursary provides crucial financial aid to students facing challenges.

With rising living costs, more students are struggling to afford food, housing, and transportation. Our goal is to raise critical funds to provide vital support and help students stay focused on their studies this season.

Last December, thanks to the generosity of our donors, our campaign supported 350 students, helping them cover essential expenses and focus
on their studies during a challenging time of year.

LCAR Members have supported S.O.S. years before and years after retirement. Please consider continuing your support this year.

For more information and to contribute, please visit the S.O.S. Campaign web page.
