Medical and Dental Plan Options After Retirement
LCAR Workshop – May 6
Retirees no longer have the benefit of employer-paid Medical and Dental plan premiums, so it is important to be aware of the various possible alternatives.
On Wednesday, May 6, LCAR will host a drop-in workshop for employees and retirees who want to learn more about benefit plan alternatives after retirement. The session will take place from 3:00–4:00 p.m. in T228. The workshop will focus on Medical and Dental plans for people covered by the College Pension Plan and the Municipal Pension Plan. These options may look different from the benefits available during employment, so the session may be useful for employees preparing for retirement, as well as those who have already retired. LCAR members will provide an overview of the plan structures available through the College Pension Plan, Municipal Pension Plan, and Entente Education Canada. They will also share case studies to show how coverage can work in different situations. There will be time for questions. The session will draw on LCAR members’ experience, so some “what if” questions may lead to discussion rather than one definitive answer.
Employees and retirees interested in attending are welcome to drop in.
